In an attempt to strengthen its efforts, authorities have declared to hold a nationwide mock drill on Saturday under its elusive preparations for the upcoming re-exam to be held on June 21st. The mock drill will begin at 9 am and continue late till the evening. Nearly 2.5 lakh security personnel are reported to participate in the drill. The drill aims to asses the preparedness, coordination among agencies involved and the effectiveness of the security measures being taken for the NEET Re-exam.

All examination centres will operate under a three tier security arrangement on the day of the exam. According to sources, paramilitary forces have been tasked with the custody and security of the question papers and answer booklets. Around 5,000 NEET dedicated centres will be monitored through CCTV surveillance by the NTA.

Besides, all social media platforms have been placed under the scanner and any suspicious activity will in connection the NEET UG re-exam will be immediately neutralized. Along with district administration, state and central officials are also overseeing the arrangements at the examination centre.

Nearly 21 lakh candidates have registered for the re-exam to be held on June 21. So far, 18 lakh have downloaded their admit cards.

NEET UG exam was cancelled on May 3rd following its leak. Controversies over the paper leak has deepened revealing the involvement of several including institutional employees to students. The case was handed over to CBI who later sought the arrest of 13 involve d in the leak. Recently, the Delhi court granted permission to an accused identified as Yash Yadav to attempt the exam in judicial custody.
