In a recent update the CBSE issued clarification over “Roll Number Not Found” message that popped its Post-Result Services Portal. The update stemmed from recent social media posts and media reports by the students and parents.
In its update, officials explained “Roll Number Not Found” message appears when a candidate did not successfully apply during the first stage of the process- the Answer books photocopy application window.
“As clearly outlined earlier, only those candidates who had applied for their scanned answer books during the preceding stage (Answer Books Photocopy) were eligible to avail the subsequent stage of verification of issues observed and re-evaluation of answers,” CBSE said.
The re-evaluation window closed on June 7. It remined fully active from June 2- 7 under the supervision of government and the technical teams from IITs. As many as 1.6 lakh students had submitted requests for verification and re-evaluation of over 3.8 lakh answer books.
It re-iterated that dedicated teams provided proactive assistance thorugh helpdesk and greivance addressal channels during the application process. It further added to continue to address genuine student concerns through its channels.
Earlier on Monday, the SC directed CBSE to take urgent steps to declare the Class 12 Improvement Examination results and submit a clear roadmap for releasing them by the end of this week. Delivering a strong message, the bench said, “If needed, then burn the midnight oil, but do it by Friday.”
The discussion around CBSE class 12 results gained momentum after students claimed to have been awarded lower than expected scores particularly in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
