As a key event during the growing nationwide unrest over examination malpractices, Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the youth-oriented online movement “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP), has made an announcement about his arrival in India on June 6. The intention of Dipke is to organize a peaceful and direct demonstration in Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, demanding that the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resign from office.

This news has been shared with the public in a video message aired by the CJP social media accounts, in which Dipke explained the shift in his approach from online to ground-level activism. It is noteworthy that the main reason behind organizing this planned demonstration is the recent case of NEET-UG paper leak as well as the structural issues associated with India’s overall competitive and board exams system.

“This is the time for all of us to unite ourselves, according to the Constitution of India, and raise our voice in peace…. If we all raise our voice in unison, definitely they would have to listen to us.”

As per Dipke, the prevailing crisis within the system has jeopardized the efforts of millions of competitive aspirants who have worked hard, having adverse implications on their mental peace along with their trust in the education system. This is evident from the data mentioned by Dipke where more than one crore students from all across the country who were competing for NEET, CBSE, and CUET suffered from anxiety owing to repeated mistakes made by the institutions and their failure to act responsibly.

On his arrival in the national capital on Saturday morning, Dipke will make sure to contact his supporters who will be waiting at the airport and then move towards the Parliament Street Police Station to seek statutory permission for the assembly at Jantar Mantar.
