New Delhi: The Class 12 CBSE re-evaluation portal has been hit by several cyberattack attempts, said officials after 1.5 million attempts were reported after the portal was launched today.
In a post on X, the board said that the latest attack involved a denial-of-service attempt that flooded the portal with 1.5 million requests in just 2 minutes, besides over 100,000 unauthorized file access attempts were made.
“While thousands of students accessed the CBSE re-evaluation portal today, malicious actors attempted to disrupt services through a barrage of cyberattacks,” the board said.
Despite the threats, officials pressed that the portal continued to function and handeled heavy traffic. Officials deployed to monitor the traffic said around 8000 users simultaneously accessed the platform and 18,000 re-evaluation and verification submissions were submitted by 3pm.
Keeping in mind the feedbacks by the students, the board has increased the session time limits to make the application process smoother and more user-friendly. The board said that the technical team monitoring the traffic and taking necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted service for the students.
Early today, the portal went down briefly agitating the students.
Meanwhile, Sarthak Sidhant, the 18 year old who alleged irregularities in the OSM tender process, presented his findings in the case before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports. He claimed that key eligibility and evaluation criteria were altered before the contract was awarded to Hyderabad-based COEMT EduTech.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee, chaired by Congress MP Digvijaya Singh, met on Tuesday to discuss the use of the OSM system in CBSE Class 12 board examinations and concerns that emerged following its rollout.
