Ghaziabad: The gruesome murder of a 17-year-old boy in Ghaziabad last night, during an Eid function, has caused a shock due to the outcry that erupted after the incident was reported. It happened Thursday afternoon in Lokpriya Vihar locality of Khoda, and has attracted the attention of political leaders and security officials.

Police say the teen was out with a group of friends when he was approached by another youth for a chat. It started off as an argument and ended up in a violent confrontation. The accused man pulled out a knife and attacked the victim and then ran away with his friends, investigators say. The injured boy was rushed to Noida hospital by his family and friends, but later on died due to injuries.

A video from a CCTV camera is online and is being analysed as part of the investigation, which is thought to capture moments in the incident. The victim’s family has made serious allegations about the motive for the attack which is under investigation.

Reacting to the incident, Keshav Prasad Maurya said that he would take strict action against the responsible ones. He said the government did not want them to break the peace and the accused won’t be spared. Maurya said investigators are continuing to look for and arrest anyone involved in the crime.

Police officials, including Abhishek Srivastava, assistant commissioner of police, said they are working to find out the exact sequence of events and track the suspects. The incident has sparked public outrage, and calls for the government to take action and enforce stricter laws to prevent such violence.
