Ex-Judge Giribala Singh, who was released on anticipatory bail by the Madhya Pradesh High Court after it quashed the bail bond, was spotted feeding stray dogs outside her house in Bhopal on Thursday morning, just hours after her anticipatory bail was withdrawn.
The video, which has been making the rounds online, depicts Singh putting food down for stray dogs in front of a tree across from her home before quickly retreating back inside. The images were soon trending on social media due to the ongoing debate on the cause of Twisha Sharma’s death.
Actor-Model, Twisha Sharma, who hailed from Noida, was discovered dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12, with the details of her death creating a stir in the public. After the incident, there were allegations against members of her husband’s family, including Giribala Singh, for dowry harassment and cruelty.
The High Court withdrew a bail granted in anticipation of investigation to Singh by a session court on May 15 in a big setback for the man. The man got a setback when the High Court cancelled the anticipatory bail granted by a sessions court on May 15. In a lengthy 17-page order, Justice Devnarayan Mishra noted that the allegations made and the facts in the case warranted postponing the relief.
The case is based on the multiple provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Dowry Prohibition Act, including cruelty and dowry-related harassment.
The order by the High Court also paved the way for applications for the cancellation of Singh’s bail and bolstered the investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma. The case continues to receive a large amount of public and media interest, and calls for accountability and a probe.
