Mohanla’ls latest family thriller, the third edition of Drishyam has gained major attention with its opening over the weekend. The Malayalam film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide in just 3 days following its release.

On Saturday alone, Drishyam 3 minted Rs 25 crore in international markets, taking its total overseas gross collection to Rs 70 crore. The film collected Rs 117.17 crore worldwide by the end of Day 3. The strong performance came despite a dip on Friday, with the film bouncing back impressively on Saturday and registering healthy attendance in several territories.

Screened across 5,185 shows on Saturday, the net collection now stands at Rs 40.60 crore, while the India gross collection has reached Rs 52.87 crore.

The Malayalam version continues to dominate business, contributing Rs 4.25 crore alone while registering 70 percent occupancy across 1,399 shows. Among dubbed circuits, the Telugu version has added Rs 25 lakh from 640 shows at 17 percent occupancy, while Tamil contributed Rs 22 lakh with 33 percent occupancy across 275 shows. The Kannada version remains limited with Rs 11 lakh and 25 percent occupancy across 101 shows.

In terms of theatre occupancy also, Malayalam industry dominated the sector with Kannada followed by Tamil and Telugu screenings.

The movie takes forward the story from Drishyam and Drishyam 2 finally hinting a 4rh edition to the series.
