PM Modi Cabinet Meeting: PM Narendra Modi held a big meeting of the Council of Ministers as soon as he returned from his marathon foreign tour of five countries. In the meeting of PM Modi which lasted for about four and a half hours, emphasis was laid on the vision of 2047, ease of living and reforms. The West Asia crisis and its economic impact were also discussed in the meeting held a few days before the completion of two years of the third term of the Modi government. 9 ministries presented their report card of work in the meeting. All the cabinet ministers of the central government, ministers of state with independent charge and other ministers of state also participated in the meeting.
Sharing details of the meeting on social media, PM Modi wrote, “Yesterday was a good meeting of the Council of Ministers. We shared our perspectives and best practices on how to promote ‘Ease of Living’, ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and further reforms to fulfil our shared vision of a developed India.”
Nine ministries presented their work at the meeting. The Commerce Ministry was the first to present. Following this, the work of key ministries such as Petroleum, Home Affairs, Finance, and Foreign Affairs was also reviewed. The ministries were previously asked to categorize their reforms into four parts: first, changes in laws. Second, changes in regulations. Third, changes in policy. Fourth, changes in working methods. They were also required to explain the impact these changes had on the public.
PM Modi gave clear instructions to his ministers to work with the year 2047 in mind. This means always keeping the goal of making India a developed country by 2047 in mind. He emphasized the importance of ease of living, or reforms that make life easier for ordinary people.
