It has been a quiet a while the French Riviera began. While several new faces debut at the 79 the Cannes Film Festival this year, fans are eagerly waiting for the Devdas actress to walk the red carpet. The Cannes Film Festival feels incomplete without the presence of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Debuting in 2002 alongside Shahrukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, she has earned a special place for herself in the renowned film festival being one of the greatest Indian participants.

Rumors are floating around Aishwarya skipping the Cannes 2026 event. While reports also hint that the Devdas star could be seen at the closing ceremony on May 23, adding that she could not travel earlier due to undisclosed reasons.

Aishwarya continued to walk the Red Carpet for decades representing India as an Indian actor and later as a global brand ambassador for L’oreal Paris. Her fashion choices often drew wide attention. Her Cinderella-blue Michael Cinco gown in 2017 became one of her most-discussed looks. In 2018, she followed that appearance with a butterfly-inspired gown that also went viral. Her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan has often accompanied her to the festival. Their mother-daughter moments from Cannes have regularly attracted attention online. This year too, Aaradhya is expected to join Aishwarya at the event. Abhishek Bachchan remains busy with the shoot of ‘King’, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, among others.

Amidst the speculations, internet has been going gaga over the actors Red Carpet looks. Using AI, taking inspiration from her previous avatars, fans have been recreating Aishwarya’s red carpet looks. And honestly, the results are spectacular. One such recreated look features the Dhoom queen in a wine red sparkling ballgown styled with statement ruby jewels. Another takes you back to 2017, an off white layered subtle gown with delicate embellishments.

Aishwarya scripted history in 2003 becoming the first Indian actress to serve on the Jury. Several Indian celebrities have graced the French Riviera 2026, they include Alia Bhatt, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Jacqueline Fernandez, Aditi Rao Hydari, Mouni Roy, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Urvashi Rautela. Apart from them, Marathi film industry stars like Ashok Saraf, Nivedita Saraf, Prajakta Mali and Ankita Prabhu Walawalkar have also made their appearance at the esteemed festival.

It remains to see if fans could get to see the mesmerizing Devdas star this year.
