Lakhimpur Kheri. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the deaths of 10 people in the Isanagar road accident. He has announced compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also announced financial assistance of ₹2 lakh each to the families of the deceased. He has also directed officials to provide all possible assistance to the families.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared a post that read, “Deeply saddened to hear about the tragedy in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. My condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover as soon as possible. The PMNRF will provide ₹2 lakh (approximately $1.5 million) to the families of each deceased. ₹50,000 will be provided to the injured.”

It should be noted that a speeding truck and a Tata Magic van full of passengers collided near Sisaia on the Uchgaon Bharehta Road in Isanagar. Ten people were killed in the accident, while three others were seriously injured. According to reports, the Tata Magic van was carrying 12 people, traveling from Lakhimpur to Isanagar. Meanwhile, the Tata Magic van collided with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction.

Police arrived at the scene and, with the help of a crane, removed the crashed vehicles from the highway, restoring traffic. The road remained jammed for some time after the accident. Police confirmed nine deaths, but the number has since risen to 10. Four people are injured. All are receiving treatment. Police are investigating the cause of the accident and identifying the deceased.
