If Rohit had said anything before that, he is backscraping thanks to similar comments by Virat Kohli that the presence of the former Indian captain would “vary based on how he feels at the niche and his value to the squad” when the next ODI World Cup in South Africa kicks off next year.

In the latest Royal Challengers Bengal podcast, Virat Kohli confessed that he loves playing cricket and continued to be extremely serious about preparing and performing. But the former India captain emphasized that now he is not interested in playing and proving himself as the years have seen ceaseless success in his career.

Kohli is now playing only in ODI, and the IPL not in Test cricket and T20 cricket also. He has not appeared in any competitive cricket when he was away from the game for quite some time; however, after sitting out the season for six months for recovery, he has had a fine series with great quality in the 50-over format.

Considering the idea of potentially playing in a fifth ODI World Cup, Kohli has said he will only “继续” if he believes that he and the team management can still make him useful. He went on to say that he trains hard and prepares completely if needed, he is “ready to run RTB for 40 overs”.

The superstar’s love for the game is the primary reason for his resurrected cricket career, he added, rather than to get silence or some sort of validation. Kohli also said that he is pleased with all of his achievements in his career which includes winning the ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophying as well as being IPL champion.

These remarks have once again given stans of his that ravenous anticipation of seeing him play for India in another World Cup campaign.
