Main Hoon Punjab but not Indian- a public declaration made by Diljit Dosanjh lately seems to gather attention. According to an insider report, popular singer Diljit Dosanjh is not an Indian anymore. The remarks by the singer have been garnering attention following his rejection enter politics.
The report added that he has been travelling to India on an e-visa since September 2022, which as per sources in the matter indicates that he does not hold an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card. It is learnt that his last Indian passport was commissioned in Mumbai in 2018. Further it is learned that his spouse, Sandeep Kaur, is a US national and that he had listed a five-bedroom bungalow in California as his residential address while acquiring American citizenship.
Earlier, a civil society group Jaago Punjab Manch, comprising retired bureaucrats, Army personnel and professionals, had publicly urged the singer to enter politics, describing him as the kind of leader a “cash-strapped, drug affected Punjab needs.
Dosanjh, however, firmly rejected the idea. Sharing a report on X, he wrote, “Kadey v Nhi… Mera Kam Entertainment Karna. Am Very Happy in My Field. Thank You So Much.”
