Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court will hold the final hearing today in the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. The court could deliver a significant verdict in this case. It’s worth noting that Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s son, Kartikeya Chouhan, had filed a defamation case against him.

In fact, during an election rally in Jhabua in 2018, Rahul Gandhi mentioned Kartikeya Chauhan’s name in the Panama Papers leak case. Kartikeya filed a lawsuit against Rahul Gandhi in the MPMLA court, following which the MPMLA court issued a summons against him.

In the last hearing, the court heard arguments from both sides. The petition alleges that the case against Rahul Gandhi has been filed without hearing his side of the story.

Timeline of Case:

  • On October 30, 2018, Kartikeya Chauhan filed a case in the MPMLA court.
  • The case was registered by the MP MLA Court in Bhopal on February 27, 2025.

  • On May 7, 2026, after hearing both sides, the High Court fixed May 12 for the final hearing
