Five people including two children died in a horrific accident on Sunday after midnight as a speeding Suzuki Hayabusa hit a car in Mahbubnagar district of Telangana, police said.

The accident leading to a fatal collision was on Palakonda bypass road between Mahbubnagar and the City of Kurnool around 1am. Preliminary investigations revealed that the car had been trying to make a U-turn at the bypass but the high-speed Hayabusa sports bike ploughed into it from behind at a high speed.

Police reported two people were killed at the scene by the force of the crash when they were on the motorcycle. In addition, the occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured in the collision. They were taken to a nearby hospital immediately for immediate treatment and three passengers later died due to their injuries.

The 30-year-old Arshiya Begum, seven-year-old Ujepa and two-year-old Amar were identified as the car’s dead occupants. Authorities are yet to officially identify the two victims who were riding the sports bike.

Officials at the Mahbubnagar Rural Police Station said that they had received no formal complaint in relation to the incident at the time of reporting but an investigations process has already been launched. Police are reviewing CCTV from along the bypass and have collected witness statements to find out exactly what happened.

Early results reveal that speeding could have been a significant factor in the crash. The Hayabusa motorcycle, featured for its high-performance engine output and extreme mileage output, is said to have damaged both the vehicle and the motorcycle, with the resultant wreckage thrown high into the air.The Hayabusa motorcycle is known for its high-powered engine and extreme speed capabilities reportedly hit the car with such force that both vehicles were severely damaged and materials from the wreckage was thrown high into the air.

The accident has sparked another debate on reckless driving and speeding on roads on the bypass and on the highways particularly at night. The police asks motorists to stop breaking traffic laws and should be cautious when on the roads at night to avoid such fatal accidents.
