Police have uncovered cannabis cultivation in the village panchayat of Mangora and arrested one accused. This case is from the Khargawan police station area.
According to reports, police received information about cannabis cultivation in the village panchayat of Mangora in the Khargawan police station area. Following this, the team raided the site and seized 36 cannabis plants. Police also arrested an accused named Sarvjeet, against whom a case has been registered under the NDPS Act.
A video of the incident has also surfaced, showing how the cannabis plants were planted among other plants. Police seized 36 cannabis plants from the scene and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway.
What is NDPS Act?
NDPS stands for the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985, a stringent law prohibiting the illegal trade, cultivation, production, purchase, sale, storage, and consumption of narcotic drugs in India. Under this law, the accused can face rigorous imprisonment of 10 to 20 years and a fine of up to 1 to 2 lakh rupees.
