Raipur: Two matches of IPL 2026 are scheduled to be held in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, for which the RCB team arrived in Raipur today. Virat Kohli and other players were welcomed at Raipur Airport. From the airport, the RCB team departed for Myra Resort. Tight security arrangements were observed during the event.
Raipur has been honored to host IPL matches after 10 years. Preparations for the matches have been completed at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium. The capital is ready for everyone, from celebrities to cricket fans. On Sunday, May 10th, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the Mumbai Indians. Fans of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are expected to attend the match.
Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika are also expected. The Ambani family is also expected to support the Mumbai Indians franchise. Bollywood celebrities may also attend the match. The police have made elaborate security arrangements.
Raipur IPL Match: Police made strict security arrangements
While cricket fans in the capital are excited for the matches on May 10th and 13th, the police have made elaborate security arrangements. Chief Secretary Vikassheel held a high-level meeting, following which security preparations have been intensified. Eight IPS officers at the IG, DIG, and SP levels, along with 20 gazetted officers and approximately 1,500 personnel, will be deployed.
DIG Girja Shankar Jaiswal has been appointed as the security in-charge and will oversee the security arrangements under the guidance of Raipur IG Amresh Mishra. 1,200 police personnel and officers have been deployed. Additionally, over 300 personnel will be on duty to facilitate traffic flow.
