A massive fire erupted in a residential apartment in Bilaspur towards the end of the night and caused property in the amount of lakhs to burn into ashes. The accident took place at the time of approximately 1:30 am in a flat on the fourth floor of Bhatia Residency in the Mangla area within the police station limits of the Civil Line.
According to initial reports, the flat belongs to Yash Relwani, a property dealer, who lives there with his mother and sister. Relwani had just left the house along with his family to rush his sister to a hospital because her health had suddenly failed her. In the meantime when they were absent, the neighbours saw flames springing out of the flat, and they at once informed him.
When the family came back, the fire had grown and spread to various rooms and engulfed the entire apartment. The fire was alarming the residents of the building and caused chaos and fear in the complex. Teams of police and fire brigade arrived to the scene as fast as possible and after intensive efforts were able to bring the fire under control.
Luckily, there were no reported casualties in the incident. Nonetheless, household items that were worth lakhs of dollars were totally lost in the fire. The cause of the fire is not known and the government has started investigating into what caused the fire.
Authorities have ensured that a thorough investigation is being conducted and the citizens have also been advised to adopt fire precautions to avoid such accidents in future.
