A severe storm scenario made its way across North Texas on Saturday night with no less than one fatality, numerous injuries, and rampant damage in several locations. The government believes a tornado may have been caused by the storm, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.

The death was reported, according to officials, in the town of Runaway Bay, which is on the shores of Lake Bridgeport. J.D. Clark confirmed the death and said that several residents were injured during the storm. The damage has displaced at least 20 families and forced them to evacuate their homes.

Parker County was another part of the storm that affected Springtown, where the winds were reported to have reached 90 mph, as confirmed by Chief Meteorologist Pete Delkus. In the region, a building collapse was also reported, and authorities are concerned that two people may be under the rubble.

The storm had traveled about 25 miles northwest of Fort Worth, prompting a Tornado Warning in the area. The National Weather Service will likely conduct a thorough damage assessment to determine whether a tornado has made landfall and issue an official designation if it is confirmed.

The rescue mission is still in progress, and the American Red Cross is working to offer aid to homeless families. A reunification centre has been established at 513 Port O’Call Drive in Runaway Bay, where residents can seek help or information regarding their loved ones.

There were also massive power outages that affected approximately 40,000 customers in North Texas, with about 25,000 in Tarrant County. As recovery operations continue, residents have been advised not to travel due to fallen trees and downed power lines.
