Jagdalpur: Significant news has emerged from Telangana on the Naxalite front, where 47 Maoists have surrendered to the police. Security agencies are considering this mass surrender a major blow to the Naxalite organization. It is being reported that this has almost brought the South Bastar Divisional Committee (DVC) to the brink of collapse.

The surrender was led by two senior Naxalite leaders: Hemla Aythu, alias Vijja, in charge of the South Bastar DVC, and Podium Lachu, alias Manoj, commander of the 9th Battalion. The surrenders included one SCM-level leader, three DVCM/CyPCM-level members, 24 ACM/PPCM cadres, and 19 party members.

Along with their surrender, the Naxalites also handed over a large quantity of weapons. Police recovered a total of 32 weapons and 515 live cartridges. The surrendered Naxalites handed over one LMG, four AK-47s, three SLR rifles, two INSAS rifles, 12 single-shot guns, two pistols/revolvers, and two BGL guns, along with other weapons. 100 kg of Cordtex wire, used in setting up explosives, was also recovered.

These Naxalites will be given financial assistance under the government’s rehabilitation policy. According to information, an amount of about Rs 1 crore 50 lakh will be distributed on today’s surrender. At the same time, these cadres, natives of Chhattisgarh, were also immediately given interim relief of Rs 25,000 each. According to Telangana Police, till now 260 Maoists have surrendered in the year 2026, whereas now only 4 active Naxalites of Telangana origin are left in other states. Police have also appealed to the remaining big leaders, Ganapati, Santosh, Sujatha, and Mangtu to give up violence and return to the mainstream.

Amit Shah stated that the radical leftist ideology has nothing to do with development. Their motto is that power flows from the barrel of a gun. They want to gain power by spreading this ideology among innocent tribals. Amit Shah clearly stated that those who take up arms will pay the price. Shah stated that tribals were misled by the leftists. Development was prevented. They burned down schools in tribal areas. Previously, the state had limited access to the Red Corridor. Naxalism led to poverty in these areas.
