SATNA: A grim discovery in the Bank Colony area of Satna has sparked outrage and grief after the body of an 11-year-old boy was found hidden inside a plastic drum on Monday. The victim, who had gone missing earlier that day, was allegedly murdered by a local laundryman following a long-standing personal dispute with the child’s father.
Discovery of the Body
The horrific crime came to light after the boy’s family grew suspicious and alerted the Kolgawan police station. Acting on a tip-off, officers reached a locked house in Bank Colony belonging to 45-year-old Mathura Rajak, who operates a nearby laundry shop.
Upon breaking into the locked premises, police discovered a blue plastic drum. Inside, they found the lifeless body of the child. Preliminary forensic assessments suggest the boy was killed with extreme brutality; officials stated his throat had been slit with a sickle, a tool commonly used for harvesting or cutting.
Motive and Manhunt
According to district officials, the primary suspect, Mathura Rajak, had been embroiled in frequent arguments with the victim’s father. Investigating officers believe the suspect targeted the child to settle a personal vendetta.
“The brutality of the act points toward a deep-seated grudge. We are currently analyzing the nature of the previous disputes between the suspect and the victim’s family,” a senior police official stated.
The suspect is currently at large. Since the discovery, Rajak’s laundry shop has remained shuttered, and his mobile phone is switched off. The Satna police have formed multiple teams to track his whereabouts and have alerted neighboring districts.
Community in Mourning
The incident has sent shockwaves through the quiet neighborhood of Bank Colony. As the body was sent for a post-mortem examination, local residents gathered to demand swift justice and more stringent security measures for children in the area.
The police have assured the family that the perpetrator will be apprehended soon, as they continue to record statements from neighbors and potential witnesses.
