MUMBAI – Fans of the high-octane spy thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge will have to wait a bit longer to catch the film from the comfort of their homes. According to new industry developments, the digital premiere of the Ranveer Singh-starrer—originally rumored for a mid-May launch—has been slightly pushed back to maximize its streaming impact.
The film is now expected to debut on OTT in the last week of May or the first week of June 2026. This tactical shift is primarily designed to align with the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, ensuring the blockbuster doesn’t compete for viewership with the tournament’s high-stakes final matches.
The delay is also attributed to the film’s phenomenal performance in cinemas. Since its theatrical release on March 19, the Aditya Dhar directorial has grossed over ₹1,650 crore worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
About the film
The second instalment revolves around Hamza Ali Mazari, an Indian agent locked in a high-stakes battle against Pakistan’s ISI chief, Major Iqbal. The narrative traces Jaskirat Singh Rangi’s transformation into Hamza, how he navigates enemy territory with restraint and grit, and whether he ultimately succeeds in his mission as Sher-e-Baloch. The film answers all these questions while keeping the stakes consistently high.
