The situation in the Middle East intensified even more on Wednesday when a drone attack caused a fire at the Kuwait International Airport. The Kuwait civil aviation authority reported that the drones struck a fuel storage tank resulting in a fire at the beginning of the morning. Early reports showed that there was minimal damage and that no one was killed. Kuwaiti military officials stated that its air defence systems were busy intercepting incoming drones and missiles in the incident.

The most recent developments happen against the existing conflict between Iran and the United States with the tension spreading in various countries of the Gulf. Countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have been reported to think of playing a more active part in the conflict that would result in more fear of a wider regionalized outbreak.

In another attack, Bahrain also affirmed that a Moroccan national who was serving in its armed forces was murdered after its armed forces were attacked by an Iranian missile during a normal operation. The case illustrates the escalating nature of cross-border attacks as the war intensifies.

In the meantime, the shipment of diplomats does not exclude military operations. Reports have indicated that the administration of Donald Trump has suggested a 15-point ceasefire plan to Iran, despite the fact that preparations to launch more US troops to the area is being made to further reinforce the already huge military force.

Pakistan has also become a potential mediator making an offer to facilitate new talks between Washington and Tehran. Since both war and negotiations play at the same time, the region is in the state of alert as the fears of further deterioration take their toll.
