As part of looking forward to the Tata IPL 2026 matches fixed in March 28, the city police have already intensified their security around the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to guarantee a secure and enjoyable time of fans. On Monday, the stadium was inspected by Central Division DCP Akshay M. Hakay who examined all the key areas and emergency preparation.

In the inspection at Chinnaswamy, DCP Hakay inspected the spectator stands, holding zones, exits and entry points and other sensitive parts of the stadium. He also held discussion with officials of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), DNA Networks and the National Disaster Assistance (NDA) team to determine preparedness and inter-agency coordination.

DCP Hakay informed reporters that we have carried out extensive inspection including stand, holding points and emergency exits. There are no risks being taken this time based on the previous year experience. Complete emergency systems have been installed to maintain safety of people.

He further mentioned that there exists a close coordination with all agencies such as event managers and emergency response teams. The necessary numbers of police have been assigned, and the procedures of handling the crowds reinforced in order to avoid any unseemly incidents.

This security improvement is an addition to the stampede like chaos that occurred at the venue last year, and that indicated the need to enforce tougher crowd control measures. To solve this, the police have ushered improved barricading, controlled access, and specific holding areas.

Surveillance, real-time monitoring and emergency response systems are being given special consideration. Close attention will be paid to CCTV cameras, and other staff will also be posted to strategic locations. There is also coordination being done with traffic officials to make sure the traffic will move smoothly and the spectators would be advised on how to conduct themselves by the people.

The overall plan to accomplish these is to offer a safe atmosphere to both fans and players and make sure the IPL matches go on uninterrupted.
