The new movie Dhurandhar 2 by Ranveer Singh has shaken the box office by giving one of the biggest opening day ever in the history of Hindi movies. The movie, directed by Aditya Dhar, opened across the globe on March 19 following unprecedented hype with record paid previews.
Even before the official release, the movie enjoyed an incredible opening with an incredible amount of ₹43 crore in preview shows in the domestic market on its own on Wednesday evening. This in itself broke down the last preview records with the then mark being at approximately 10 crores. It is because of this head start that the movie is going to start its opening day on an unprecedented momentum.
At 4 PM on its release day, Dhurandhar 2 had already grossed about ₹45 crore in total, with the film earning a total of 88 crores on its first day. As evening and night movies are yet to follow, the movie is sure to pass the mark of 100 crore with ease, a dream first of its kind in any Bollywood film on the opening day.
The movie is also fairing well in dubbed versions with the Tamil version taking the lead in the regional markets, with the Telugu collections also doing well. Malayalam and Kannada versions have not been as fast though because there are no paid previews.
Such an incredible opening stage has made Dhurandhar 2 to outdo the past records in some of the films such as Jawan and that is a new mark to be noted in the industry. According to trade analysts, the film with its high word-of-mouth and international attraction may become one of the greatest grossing Indian films of all time.
