A Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) that is allied to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Kerala Congress (M), which is an ally to the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), announced their candidate lists on Monday respectively. Each side has presented 12 candidates, and it is an indication that they are ready to go to the poll.

The KC(M) chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Jose K Mani will be competing in the Pala constituency which has been the seat of his late father, KM Mani, who served it more than 50 years. At the present, the seat is occupied by Mani C Kappan of Congress based United Democratic Front (UDF). Roshy Augustine, a senior leader and minister in the water resources department has been renominated as an Idukki candidate, and other incumbent MLAs like Pramod Narayan, N Jayaraj and Sebastian Kulanthungal will seek reelection.

One of the new entrants is a woman candidate who is Nirmala Jimmy, running on KC(M) ticket and will be the contestant in Kaduthuruthy. Biju Chirayath is a former congress councillor who has been nominated in Chalakudy.

Meanwhile, BDJS also published the names of candidates of 12 seats, and the rest of the names will be announced in the nearest future. The major contenders will be Santhosh Shanthy (Kuttanad), Thambi Mettuthara (Kayamkulam), Suresh Ettikunnel (Kaduthuruthy), and Sangeetha Viswanathan (Udumbanchola). Nonetheless, Tushar Vellappally, the president of BDJS, is still to be confirmed as a candidature.
