The Indore Police is trying to keep the current level of cybercrime down by addressing it more technologically and in a professional manner. The Police Commissionerate has resolved to train cyber experts at all the police stations to ensure that concerns involving cyber fraud could be handled instantly at that particular level. The purpose of the initiative is to make sure that the victims do not need to run to one office to another and get the necessary help in their closest police station.
In this agenda, a special cybercrime training has just been held at the office of the Police Commissioner. Approximately 80 policemen were involved in the program, and they were exposed to the modern computerized tools, online portals and technical methods of investigating crimes that involve computers. The training was carried out in line with the guidelines of the Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh who has placed a greater focus on fortification of cyber help desks within the police stations levels.
Additional Police Commissioner Amit Singh, R.K. Singh, and all the Deputy Commissioner Police (DCPs), Additional DCPs and Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) attended the one-day training program. Officers of different police stations, primarily at the constable and head constable ranks were invited to be educated on the practical side of dealing with cybercrimes complaints.
Additional DCP of the Crime Branch Rajesh Dandotiya and the technical team demonstrated how police can use the platforms namely; 1930 cyber helpline, cybercrime.gov.in portal, NCRP, Sanchar Saathi, Samanvay, e-DAR, Nidan, and the Cyber Police Portal to act quickly during the session. The officers were also taught how to place online complaints within a short time, launch investigations and place a hold immediately on the fraudulent transactions in order to get the money back.
According to the Commissioner of police in a statement Santosh Kumar Singh, criminals are becoming more and more technologically advanced and the police have to keep ahead of them by enhancing their technical skills.
