The Vidhan Bhavan was evacuated quickly after receiving the threat amidst the Maharashtra budget session. After this, the entire premises is being searched. Teams of Mumbai Police and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) are carrying out a thorough search operation in the Vidhan Bhavan premises on Thursday after receiving a bomb threat.
The crucial budget session is underway in the Assembly. During this period, MLAs received information about a threatening email. Immediately, a flash alert was issued as part of security protocols. Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) teams are conducting thorough searches to prevent any untoward incident.
Police officials said the Vidhan Bhavan complex has been completely sealed. Given the seriousness of the email threat, the technical cell is also active. Currently, the entire building is being sanitized, and security teams are ensuring the complex is secure.
The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is currently in its budget session, and many MLAs, ministers, and VIP officials are present on the premises. Security has been tightened, and police are conducting thorough searches of the premises. Police deployment has also been increased. All entry and exit gates to the Vidhan Bhavan have been closed. No one is being allowed in or out. Neither the general public nor media personnel are permitted inside. Security will remain tight on the premises until the search operation is complete.
