In Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched another political controversy when the party strongly attacked a statement of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president, Jitu Patwari. The BJP made allegations that Patwari was attacking the judiciary and it is possible that he was disrespectful to the court with his comments.

BJP media in-charge Ashish Agarwal took the matter to social media platform X, enquiring whether Congress leader was not taking the authority of the courts into consideration. Agarwal mentioned a recent ruling by the Madhya Pradesh High Court in regards to a Congress candidate Mukesh Malhotra. The decision of the court stated that Malhotra was claiming to have hidden material information for instance, information pertaining to his criminal record in his election affidavit and that this might have misled voters during the elections.

Agarwal pointed out that the case that was decided at the High Court was founded on facts and the relevant legal provisions. His criticism was that efforts to put the issue in a caste based story were creating a discredit to the constitutional institutions and judicial system of India.

The BJP leader also doubted whether Patwari believed in the constitutional system of the country and the judicial system. He claimed that the Congress leadership was attempting to shift focus with the help of political rhetoric rather than apologizing or accepting the findings of the court.

The comments have further fueled the existing political tussle between the BJP and the Congress in state with both sides trading blows regarding the matter and the involvement of the judiciary in the electoral field.
