T20 World Cup: India has become the champion of the T20 World Cup. In the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, India made history by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in a brilliant performance. The special thing was that India won this trophy for the second consecutive time and became world champions in its own home for the first time. After winning the T20 World Cup 2026, at midnight, captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir reached the Hanuman Temple in Ahmedabad with the T20 World Cup trophy. Here, they visited Sankat Mochan and sought blessings for the team’s historic victory. ICC Chairman Jay Shah was also present during this time.
India defeated New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final, played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8th, to win the title. Following this historic victory, the entire country experienced a Diwali-like atmosphere. Fans celebrated by dancing in the streets, lighting off fireworks, and waving the tricolor.
Meanwhile, captain Suryakumar Yadav arrived at the Hanuman Temple in Ahmedabad late last night with the World Cup trophy and performed puja. ICC Chairman Jay Shah and team head coach Gautam Gambhir were also with him. A heavy police presence was seen outside the temple. Captain Surya entered the temple with the trophy and bowed before Bajrangbali.
