Qatar re-notified its residents that the security threat had been eliminated. Meanwhile, countries across the globe are planning to evacuate nationals from the region, currently trying to repel drones and missiles being launched from Tehran. India is also scheduled to operate 96 flights to and from the Middle East on Friday, the government said.

Hungary, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria and Netherlands are among the many countries that have engaged in bringing back nationals from the UAE and Israel via neighbouring states. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are among West Asian countries with significant tourist footfall and efforts are underway to evacuate them.

Residents of Dubai on Friday noon received mobile alerts warning of a potential missile threat. Meanwhile, the UAE reported a ballistic missile and six drone strikes on the country’s territory on Thursday. UAE’s defence ministry said it repelled six missiles and 131 drones on the same day.

Explosions were also heard near the Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, news agency reported, quoting a witness. Earlier the international airport and some hotels in Dubai reportedly sustained damage. Dubai Parks and Resorts announced that it will be closed on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, as a precautionary safety measure, following official guidance amid the ongoing regional situation.
