The Free Pink Mobility Card of the national capital is the largest project organized by President Droupadi Murmu who is going to introduce it on March 2 to ensure better mobility and security of women in the capital. The smart card will be introduced by the Delhi government to enable women and transgender residents to travel free of charge on the buses of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in addition to facilitating easy access to various types of public transport using a single digital platform.

The Pink Mobility Card will be a smart card in the form of QR that will have the name and photograph of the applicant with the QR code and the card ID among other important details. Although the bus travel on the DTC services will still be free to the eligible beneficiaries, the same card can be paid to use the Delhi Metro, Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and other public transport networks, thus facilitate integrated and cashless commuting.

In order to issue them, about 50 centres will be created throughout Delhi, offices of district magistrates, sub-divisional magistrates as well as selected DTC depots. The cards will be identified by the beneficiary Aadhaar number and the beneficiary registered mobile number to ensure that the information is verified in terms of age, gender and residential status.

There should be eligibility criteria, with the citizens of Delhi being the eligible candidates, women/transgender individuals aged above 12, and having valid identification and address documents. The program can be applied online via the DTC portal by completing the form, uploading documents and going through verification.

At the occasion in the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, President Murmu will also introduce a program called Sashakt Nari, Samriddh Delhi and a program where two free LPG cylinders will be given every year to families having ration cards on the occasion of Holi and Diwali.
