On behalf of the Chhattisgarh Provincial Agarwal Organization, the state president Dr. Ashok Agarwal met Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and asked him to nominate senior BJP leader Gaurishankar Agarwal as the candidate of the party to the upcoming Rajya Sabha seat in the state.

According to the delegation, Gaurishankar Agarwal is a leading political personality in Chhattisgarh, who was a former MLA of the Kasdol constituency and former Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislature Assembly. They pointed out his decades long affiliation with the Bharatiya Janata Party and his input in the social, economic, educational and business fields in the state.

The representatives underlined that Agarwal is a community, which has a strong social and economic impact in Chhattisgarh. They claimed that agitators like Gaurishankar Agarwal will represent the interests of the communities well besides fostering social peace and equality.

The delegation called on the Chief Minister to recommend the name of Agarwal in the panel to be submitted to the central leadership of the party as such a move will enhance confidence and excitement in different quarters of the society as well as increase organizational foundation of the BJP in the state.

The Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was keen to hear the concerns of the delegation and promised them that their sentiments would be heard. He told them that the name of Agarwal has already been proposed in the panel that the party high command will make the final decision. The delegation was optimistic that the outcome after the meeting would be positive.
