A major update has emerged in the AI Summit shirtless protest case, and Congress appears to be receiving significant relief. Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib has been granted bail in this case. The duty magistrate of the Patiala House Court granted bail to Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib in the Indian Youth Congress protest case that took place during the AI Summit. The Patiala House Court granted him bail on a personal bond of 50,000 rupees.

The Delhi Police Crime Branch filed an application in the court late last night seeking a seven-day extension in the police custody remand of Uday Bhanu Chib. Separate applications were also filed for the remand of two other accused in the case. Following the defense’s bail application, the duty magistrate granted relief to Uday Bhanu Chib, granting him bail. The court stated in its order that the Crime Branch failed to provide sufficient reasons for the need to extend the remand. While granting bail, the court ordered Chib to surrender his passport and electronic gadgets to the court.

There was a huge uproar during the protest at Bharat Mandapam during the AI Summit in Delhi, after which the police took strict action in this matter and arrested many people including Indian Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib.

On one hand, the BJP heavily criticized the violence during this protest and targeted the Congress, while on the other hand, the Congress called the arrest of its youth leader, Uday Bhanu Chib, unconstitutional. The Congress posted on its Instagram account, “Delhi Police has arrested IYC National President Uday Bhanu Chib. This arrest is completely unconstitutional. The Constitution of India gives every citizen the right to protest. We will not be intimidated by these tactics. We will continue to raise the voice of the people and fight for them.”
