Delhi: A fair of film stars is going to be held in Delhi next month, where cinema, art, and glamour will be seen together. International Film Festival-2026 is being organised for the first time in the capital Delhi. On the initiative of the Delhi Government, the first International Film Festival of the capital (IFFD) will be organised from 25 March to 31 March at the prestigious convention centre ‘Bharat Mandapam’. CM Rekha Gupta and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra inaugurated the first International Film Festival of Delhi (IFFD) at ‘Bharat Mandapam’, in which a glimpse of films from more than 100 countries will be seen.
The Chief Minister stated that over 2,000 films from over 100 countries have been submitted for this festival, organized to mark the government’s 365-day anniversary. As part of this event, films in several Indian languages, including Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, and Telugu, will be screened not only in large auditoriums but also in various neighbourhoods across Delhi.
The Chief Minister stated that this festival is not just a celebration of films, but a celebration of Delhi’s creative power, cultural heritage, and modern thinking. It will be a public festival that ensures participation of every Delhiite and brings world cinema to the common man. It will also provide local filmmakers and technicians with an international platform and opportunities to interact with national and global talent. He added that this city-wide film festival, scheduled from March 25 to 31, 2026, will be held at various iconic venues in New Delhi, including the Bharat Mandapam. This event will provide Delhi with new opportunities for film tourism, talent development, AVGC, creative industries, and employment generation.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, highlighting Delhi’s diversity, said the city mirrors all of India. She said Delhi doesn’t have a distinct culture; rather, it reflects every corner of the country. She appealed to the film industry to create films with a spirit of nation-building, saying cinema has the power to shape society.
