Bhopal. The budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly is underway, and today the House witnessed another uproar. During the discussion on the Governor’s address, the ruling party and the opposition clashed over an issue related to the Adani Group. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya sharply remarked to Congress Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar, “Stay within your limits!” This statement increased the uproar in the House and disrupted proceedings.
On this day of the budget session, the Governor’s address was being debated. Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar accused the government of having struck a deal with the Adani Group, raising several questions. He stated that something was amiss between the government and Adani, causing harm to the public. Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya became enraged at this and, speaking from the podium, told the Leader of the Opposition, “Stay within your limits!” Upon hearing this, opposition MLAs began shouting slogans. The uproar in the House escalated, forcing the Speaker to briefly adjourn the proceedings.
Amid the uproar, another significant development occurred. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav apologized in the House for an incident, which calmed the opposition somewhat. However, Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar questioned the government as to why the registration of new sisters under the Ladli Behna Yojana has been stopped. He stated that a provision of ₹23,882 crore has been made for Ladli Behna Yojana in the budget, but the closure of new registrations is depriving millions of sisters. The government should provide a clear answer to this.
CM Dr Mohan’s address in the House
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched a scathing attack on the opposition during the discussion on the Governor’s address in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s budget session today. He referred to Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar as “younger brother” and said that the opposition’s actions are the reason the public keeps them in the opposition. The CM criticized the Congress regime, citing statistics on the government’s achievements.
The CM said, “The ruling party has spoken, and the opposition has spoken. On behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh, I salute and congratulate this temple of democracy. I express my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the Governor. In his address, the Governor depicted Madhya Pradesh’s evolving image and glimpsed the vision of a prosperous, self-reliant, and developed state in the future. It would have been better if, while His Excellency was speaking, the Leader of the Opposition had told his party members that they should at least respect the Governor. But sometimes, the heart feels sad… so fine, you keep doing this. This is why the people of the state keep you in the opposition, and you will remain so for 20 years.
