Bhopal: According to the officials, the four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Bhopal police has been formed to investigate the rape and blackmail allegations in the case of a Class 11 student. It is being investigated in accordance with the strict legal laws such as the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The main suspect, Osali Ali Khan (20), as claimed by the police, had sexually assaulted the minor in four vehicles. His friend, Mohammad Maaz Khan (23), a gym owner is alleged to have captured the footage of the attacks and subsequently used the videos to blackmail the victim. It was ordered on February 2 and both accused were arrested.
A case has been filed against it in provisions of the POCSO Act, the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act and the Information Technology Act. There are also charges that the minor was coerced into conversion that are being investigated by investigators.
Additional Commissioner of Police Ankita Khatarkar is the head of the SIT. The team has been assigned with the responsibility of undertaking an intricate investigation, including investigating digital evidence, identifying any other potential victims, and how the accused got in touch with the student.
The deputy commissioner of police (zone-3) Abhinav Chauksey claimed that one of the accused made an alleged confession in eliciting the victim. According to the police, the investigation is underway and the police are confident that they will take legal action in case the results of the investigation are negative.
