On Thursday, senior tribal Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh excise minister Kawasi Lakhma visited Raipur home of former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and paid a visit to the family members. This visit attracted political attention and Baghel shared the pictures of the meeting later on the social media.
Bhupesh Baghel wrote in his post that his family had given a very warm welcome to Kawarsi Lakhma explaining him as a mass leader of Bastar and a powerful voice of tribal community. He stressed that all the like-minded leaders were united in the struggle to defend the Chhattisgarh water, forests and land and completed his message with the slogan, We will fight and we will win.
Kawasi Lakhma also visited Raipur where he met former deputy chief minister T.S. Singh Deo and Leader of the Opposition Dr Charandas Mahant. Singh Deo posted the photos of the meeting on social media, which he termed as a courtesy meeting with Lakhma, the popular MLA of the Konta विधानसभा. He assured that he will fight till the end to preserve the rights of the tribal people and preserve its identity of Bastar.
Dr Charandas Mahanta also shared pictures on his meeting with Lakhma on X. He congratulated the senior leader on obtaining bail and termed him as the voice of Bastar. Mahant had said they had deliberated on the next Assembly session in which he had recommended Lakhma to prepare with a legal advice on critical points.
The sequence of conferences underscores a new political wave in the Chhattisgarh Congress, particularly tribal rights, regional identification, and the plans to approach new legislative session with leaders indicating cohesion and solid determination.
