Bijapur. An encounter between Naxalites and security forces has been ongoing since Friday morning on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. There are reports that three Naxalites were killed in this anti-Naxal operation, and an AK-47 and an INSAS rifle were recovered from the encounter site. However, official confirmation of this is pending. Intermittent firing continues from both sides.
According to reports, Maharashtra Police’s special unit, C-60, launched this operation against the Naxalites. During a search and domination operation in the remote Abujhmad region, they found strong evidence of the Naxalite presence. Since then, police-Naxalite encounters have been ongoing.
The Abujhmad region has long been considered a stronghold of Naxalite activities, where security forces have faced challenges at every step. Currently, additional forces have been deployed throughout the region and an intensive search operation is underway. Security agencies are closely monitoring the situation, and official information on the situation is expected to be released only after the operation is complete.
