Bijapur. An encounter is underway between security forces and Naxalites in the Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Naxalite commander Udham Singh has been killed in the encounter, which is taking place in the forest area of Peddagalur.
According to reports, Naxalites are exchanging continuous fire with soldiers from the DRG (District Reserve Guard) and the CRPF’s Cobra battalion. An automatic AK-47 rifle and a body have been recovered from the encounter site.
Confirming the encounter, Bijapur Superintendent of Police Dr. Jitendra Yadav stated that security forces are conducting a search operation in the area and are continuously monitoring the situation. Currently, the entire area is being cordoned off and searched to confirm the presence of other Naxalites. This action by the security forces is being considered a major success in the anti-Naxalite campaign. Detailed information will be released after the search operation is complete.
