Chhattisgarh’s son, Shrimant Jha, showcased his strength and technique to win the bronze medal at the 2026 World Para-Arm Wrestling Cup held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Shrimant Jha competed in the PIUH -85 kg category at the prestigious World Cup held in Tashkent from January 31 to February 7. In a fierce competition against world-class heavyweights, Shrimant displayed his excellent technique and composure to secure a medal for India.

After winning the medal, Shrimant Jha gave an emotional statement. He dedicated this significant achievement to the brave martyred soldiers of our country.

Shrimant Jha said, “Every victory I have is for the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the defense of our country. I dedicate this bronze medal to all those sons of Mother India.”

History Etched: 62 medals won

Shrimant Jha’s journey to success is nothing short of inspiring. He is currently ranked third in the world and number one in Asia as a para arm wrestler. With this bronze medal, his international medal count has now reached 62, a historic record in itself.

Speaking about his success, Shrimant said that this medal is very special to him because it inspires him to serve his country’s soldiers. He resolved that his next goal is to win a gold medal for the country in upcoming international competitions.
