BJP president election 2026 LIVE updates: Nitin Nabin took charge as the BJP national president at the party headquarters on Tuesday. PM Modi, union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, and chief ministers of several BJP-ruled states were present at the ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated BJP President Nitin Navin while addressing the BJP workers. The PM said, ‘First of all, heartiest congratulations to Nitin Navin on being elected the President of the world’s largest political party. For the past several months, from the smallest unit of the organization to the election of the National President, the entire process has been completed in a 100% democratic manner. Today this process has been duly and formally completed. For the past several months, the organization festival i.e. the extensive process of electing the President from the smallest unit of the party, was going on continuously in a 100% democratic manner, keeping in mind the spirit of the BJP’s constitution and everything mentioned in it, today it has been formally concluded.
PM Modi said, “I congratulate the workers across the country for making this a success. Over the past year and a half, we have celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the 100th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and the 100th birth anniversary of the RSS. These are inspirations that further strengthen our resolve to live for the country. Our leadership is rooted in tradition, enriched by experience, and leads the organization forward with a spirit of national service.”
Mr. Nabin had been declared the national working president of the BJP on December 14, after a nearly 18-month search, and his appointment to this post was meant to signal that he was the choice of the BJP high command for the post of national president as well.
