The politically charged statement made by another controversial BJP MLA of Madhya Pradesh has surfaced and created a new political debate. In one instance, the BJP leader reportedly employed obscene and unacceptable words on the stage at a public welfare camp, but this was recorded on video and is currently trending on social media.
The incident is said to have occurred during an Employment Fair that was held as Lok Kalyankari Shivir in Mehandwani, Dindori district. The viral video depicts Shahpura BJP MLA Omprakash Dhurve giving fixed remarks against tehsildars and government officials in his speech to the audience. His choice of terminologies has not been received well, considering the character of the occurring event, which was supposed to focus on people welfare and job opportunities.
Making the video, the MLA is heard commenting on the work ethic of the officials and invoking curses. What contributes to the controversy even more are his further remarks when he seems to realise the seriousness of what he has just said and was heard asking people to round off or delete what he had just said.
What has elicited more eyebrows is the fact that some of the top leaders were on the stage by the time the remarks were made. Faggan Singh Kulaste, a former Union Minister, BJP district president Chamru Singh Netam, and senior officials and representatives of the population were also present, but no outcry was immediately made during the speech.
Since the spread of the video, deliberations on the suitability of this type of language on a social platform have been rife in administrative and political quarters. Some have raised the question that such kind of statements bring down the dignity of government programmes that are designed to serve the common good.
It is not the first time MLA Omprakash Dhurve found himself in trouble. He had also made a sarcastic comment on journalists a few days prior at a public event in Manikpur, Shahpura block by requesting journalists to publish positive news about him.
