On Saturday, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which is headed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, released its official campaign song and it has been called Abar Jitbe Bangla (Bengal Will Win Again). The party published the song on its official social media accounts, which projected it as a strong cultural and political message with the aim of motivating the supporters throughout Bengal.

The All India Trinamool Congress announced the launch on X and it was a song that was meant to spark off all parts of Bengal and represent the spirit, pride and rebellion of the state. The party says that the song of its campaign is the reflection of its low-cost slogan of long time, which is Ma-Mati-Manush (Mother, Soil and People), which denotes the grassroots connection and local identity of TMC.

The imagery in the song also honors the great Bengali leaders like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Swami Vivekananda and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore revealing the rich historical and cultural heritage of Bengal. By these allusions the party implies that it is not going to be an easy task to oust the TMC government and by the same they present themselves as the real Protector of the Bengal heritage.

Taking a direct swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is another mishap in the song. It has images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the text, aage nijer maati shamla (Look after your own land first), suggesting that the BJP has more to do in Bengal. Videos of Mamata Banerjee and TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee heading protest marches also help strengthen the image that the party has developed about resistance.

In the opening of the song, Abhishek Banerjee accused the BJP of being a Bangali-birodhi (anti-Bengali) party and said that the party was being undemocratic by trying to take away the citizens their right to vote. He claimed that the BJP which was unable to win the confidence of the people of Bengal, was currently using oppression as a way of silencing critics.
