Police said on Friday that a CRPF jawan died after being hit by a speeding unidentified vehicle which was rammed into a motorcycle leaving his friend with serious injuries in Bilaspur. This occurred in the Torwa police station region where the police have started an investigation to trace the vehicle used in the hit-and-run.

As per the authorities the dead has been identified as Manish Kumar Adile, a citizen of Jorhadabri under the Hardibazar region in the Korba district. Manish was a CRPF personnel and was being posted at Srinagar. He has just been on leave and was staying at home with his family, which also has a house in Bilaspur.

On December 17, Manish went to his villa to celebrate Guru Ghasidas Jayanti. He was accompanied by his friend Uday Pal. At the first hours of Thursday, the two were riding through on a motorcycle back to Bilaspur. At approximately 3 am, they were heading towards the Lalkhadan overbridge along the Torwa area when a fast moving unknown vehicle hit their bike at the back.

The shock caused the two riders to fly off the bike. Manish was severely injured in the head and died at the moment, whereas Uday Pal received strong injuries. People walking by called the police and rushed to the location and sent the body of Manish to be post-mortem examined and admitted the injured man to a hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Another fatal road accident under the Civil Lines police station area also happened at the same night. One of the speeding vehicles lost control and hit a tree beside the road, Circuit House Road. The Baleno car driver was killed in the accident where another individual who was riding in the vehicle was injured and is receiving treatment in a hospital.

In both cases, police said that the investigations continue in order to realize the very causes of accidents and to define the people who are responsible.
