Bhopal: A thick blanket of fog has blanketed half of Madhya Pradesh. The cold wave, combined with the fog, is so dense that an alert has been issued in 22 districts. Transportation, especially rail services, has been severely affected. Many cities in the state recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.
5.8 degrees in Bhopal, 6.6 degrees in Indore, 5.8 degrees in Betul. 7 degrees in Umaria, 7.5 in Rewa, 7.6 in Raisen, 7.8 in Malajkhand-Naugaon, 8.1 in Khajuraho, 8.2 in Narsinghpur, 8.5 in Damoh-Mandla, 8.6 in Chhindwara, 8.9 in Tikamgarh, 9.1 in Gwalior, 9.3 in Ujjain, 9.4 in Jabalpur, 9.6 in Satna and 9.9 degrees in Guna.
Cold and fog affect the entire state
Dense fog has severely affected traffic. Most trains from Delhi to Bhopal were delayed by three to four hours. The Shatabdi Express arrived at Rani Kamlapati station at 6:24 pm instead of 2:40 pm. The Jhelum Express and Punjab Mail were delayed by two and a half hours, while the Patalkot Express arrived two hours late. The fog may affect trains even today. People should take precautions to protect themselves from the cold wave and fog. The Meteorological Department has warned of similar conditions in the coming days.
