The House will be known to host debates on various noteworthy matters related to governance and welfare of the people on the second day of the winter session of the Chhattisgarh Legislature Assembly. The annual reports of different commissions and universities will be brought before the Assembly in the state government, where their performance and activities of the last year will be pointed out.
The most notable event of the day will be the unveiling of the initial supplemental budget of the financial year 2025-26, which will probably provide extra financial commitments for the previous and new schemes. The budget will give an insight into the priorities of the government and the plans of the government finances which are not part of the annual budget.
Legislators will also, under Rule 138, move several attention motions to attract the attention of the government to urgent issues affecting the people. MLA Vikram Mandavi will bring an attention motion before the Revenue Minister on matters of purchase and selling of land on seeking clarity and solution to the problem in the revenue administration.
On the same note, MLA Shakuntala will also make the Health Minister aware of the perceived irregularities in health insurance schemes, more so on claim settlements and cashless facilities provision by the private hospitals. The issue will likely cause an in-depth debate regarding the operation and responsibility of medical professionals in government-related insurance schemes.
Along with these, there will be petitions and issues concerning roads, bridges, schools, health centres and others that will be brought to the House, and they will have the concerns of infrastructure and development among the different constituencies. Other day-to-day parliamentary business will also be held.
On the whole, the day two activities at the winter session are likely to be spirited as they predominantly deal with money matters, administration responsibility, and matters that directly influence the lives of the citizens in Chhattisgarh.
