Goa Nightclub Cylinder Blast: 25 people have died in a cylinder blast at Goa’s famous Arpora nightclub late Saturday night. Most of the deceased were kitchen staff, including three women. Around 50 people have been injured and have been admitted to Goa Medical College for treatment. PM Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the nightclub accident. He has announced Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “The fire accident in Arpora, Goa, is deeply tragic. My condolences are with all those who lost loved ones. May the injured recover as soon as possible. I have spoken to Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant about the situation. The state government is providing all possible assistance to those affected. Regarding the Goa Club accident, PM Modi announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. ₹50,000 will be given to the injured.”

Meanwhile, Goa Police reported that a fire broke out just after midnight at Birch by Romeo Lane, a popular party venue about 25 km from the state capital, Panaji, which opened only last year. According to police, a cylinder exploded while people were working in the kitchen area. Following the loud explosion, the fire quickly engulfed the entire nightclub. Nearby residents immediately alerted the police and fire brigade. Goa Police Chief Alok Kumar and other senior officials arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the incident.
