To commemorate what would otherwise have been the 90 th birth anniversary of the late actor Dharmendra, the Deol family have decided to open the farmhouse of his favorite, Khandala, to his supporters. Dharmendra died on November 24 a few days before the milestone festival at the age of 89. Sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol have resolved in his memory to make the day a chance to unite the admirers together to pay tribute to the unending contribution of the legendary actor to the Indian cinema.

The family will also be available in the Khandala farmhouse to see fans who would like to make their farewells. The conception was made after the Deols were informed that millions of his fans had regretted their inability to meet and see Dharmendra one last time. One of the sources reported that when deliberating on the best way to celebrate the day, Sunny and Bobby were vehement on letting the people have a hand in remembering their father. It was appropriate to pay a tribute to Dharmendra by opening the farmhouse that he loved so much.

The preparations towards the event have already started. The Deol family is planning to make the getting together basic, homey and affordable-just the way Dharmendra is down to earth. They will not be a formal fan meet, but it will provide those who are in awe of the family with an opportunity to visit the estate, honor them, and bond with the family. They also think of organizing transportation services to the visitors because the way to the farmhouse can be difficult though the final decisions will be made depending on the number of people.

It is a tribute to a sequence of emotional events that were conducted in the aftermath of the death of Dharmendra. A low profile funeral was held in Mumbai where close family members and film fraternity members attended. Soon, Sunny, Bobby and Karan Deol went to Haridwar to drown the ashes of Dharmendra in the Ganges at the Har Ki Pauri.
