Bhopal: During the winter session of the Legislative Assembly, the issue of farmers’ problems and losses due to excessive rainfall was raised. A heated debate ensued between the ruling and opposition parties. The Bhavantar Yojana was also dismissed as a mere paper trail. A Congress MLA accused Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya of providing false information.

Congress MLA from Tikamgarh, Yadavendra Singh Jaggu Bhaiya, said, “Which crops are being procured? Paddy and maize? The government lies. The condition of farmers in Bundelkhand is very bad. Purchases are not being made at MSP. Even the price difference is just on paper. Farming has become a loss-making business, not a profitable one. The government is forcing the Adani company to sell its crops. A survey of fake fertilizers, fake seeds, fertilizer shortages, and losses has not yet been conducted.”

BJP MLA said – talks should be held at the grassroots level

BJP MLA from Sidhi, Reeti Pathak, responded to the Congress MLA’s question by advising them to focus on the ground. She said, “The opposition shouldn’t protest just because they are in the opposition. They should also understand the current situation. The government is working for farmers at every level. Discussions should be held at the grassroots level. The government is implementing many schemes.”

‘Farmers caught with fake electricity worth lakhs of rupees’

Congress MLA from Sheopur, Babu Jandel, accused the government of handing farmers fake bills worth lakhs of rupees. He said that farmers received no compensation in the name of relief. They were completely ruined. Ministers and guards are garnering false praise by making people clap. Only 1% or 1% of farmers have received money in their accounts. FIRs are being filed against farmers. How can the government even talk about farmers’ interests when it comes to electricity bills?
