The State Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in half a dozen districts of Madhya Pradesh is now complete. By the evening of November 30, the number of enumeration sheets digitized has been over 5 crore 33 lakh, and 93 percent of the entire job is complete. In the meantime, other states have recorded a great achievement of 39 other districts in the state with more than 95 percent completion. Furthermore, there are five districts that have already passed the 92 percent point which means that the work is progressing very faster throughout the state.

Sanjeev Kumar Jha, Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh states that the digitalization of enumeration sheets is taking place very fast. He said that 100 percent of the SIR work has been done in six districts, namely, Ashoknagar, Neemuch, Betul, Guna, Mandla and Sehore. He also valued the hard work of government workers, BLOs and citizens who cooperate and work as a team to steer the project towards nearly reaching the completion timeframe.

Jha assured that such a state with the same kind of motivation and coordination will realize all of the SIR activities in the state completed in the near future.

Election Commission of India has given the Special Intensive Revision of the voter list more time. According to the new plan, the SIR process in Madhya Pradesh will be further extended to February 14, 2026. The citizens are allowed to complete the enumeration forms until December 11, 2025. The draft voter list will be published on December 16, 2025 and there will be a time period between December 16, 2025, and January 15, 2026, within which claims and objections may be made. The verification of the documents will be conducted on the period between December 16, 2025, and February 7, 2026. Lastly, the issue of the final voter list will be made on February 14, 2026.

This development underscores the great desire of Madhya Pradesh to provide the right electoral roll that is up to date with the forthcoming democratic processes.
